Mrs. Erin Griggs
My name is Erin Griggs and I am very happy and excited to be working with your student. I have been teaching since 2003 where I worked as a self-contained teacher in a pre-school setting. In 2009, I moved to a charter high school in the Buffalo area where I co-taught English for 7.5 years in grades 9-12. I had 5 years of experience teaching ELA Regents. In 2017, I decided to make a change and come to Alden Central School District where I co-taught English, grades 9 and 10, Study Skills and Resource Room. In the afternoons, I traveled to Erie County Corrections Facility and worked with adult inmates who were making a positive change in their lives and desired to obtain a high school equivalency diploma.
This is my first year in the elementary setting. I am getting to know the ins and outs of fourth grade along with your student.
When I am not teaching, I spend a great deal of time with my twin boys and husband playing sports, traveling and enjoying the greater Buffalo Community. I love Disney and anything Harry Potter.
Please always feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I look forward to a wonderful year working with you.

I will be hosting Zoom sessions each morning your student is learning remotely. During these sessions, we will review our assignements, pre-teach concepts, and re-teach material as needed.
Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and get clarification on material that they are struggling with.
Please reach out to me if you have lost the meeting code and password. I will be happy to send them to you in a private email or Remind message.
Sessions will be held each morning from 8:40-9:10. Please try to use your family name so I can admit students safely.
Thank you,
Mrs. Griggs

XtraMath
XtraMath is a good place for students to be reviewing math concepts and practice their math facts.
Your student has a uniqe PIN that is on their card. Their user name is their first name and last initial, followed by a period. Please use Mrs. Silvestri's email to sign in the first time.
