This is the option that I would prefer to work with this year as we do not have a good amount of time to properly learn how to program in Java

Updated 9/9/15Hi Allen!
So, you do not have to be registered for kick-off. You can attend your event (http://www.usfirst.org/whats-going-on) and get even more excited for the season.
With two screened coaches, you are able to start inviting Parents/Legal Guardians of students (Video: http://bit.ly/addstudentstoteam) and you can send them this tutorial (Video: http://bit.ly/stimsforparents) to help them get onboard.
I know it is tempting to try to share materials within your school, but it may prove very difficult when it comes to building the robots. Starting off with at least one Competition Set (the build material) and then investing in some research in what type of material you can source locally may be helpful. You will have to purchase the Communication/Control and Electronics set for each team separately (you are not able to register a second team without purchasing these items), but the build material does give you more leeway. Make sure to take a look at our Game Manual Part I for the Legal/Illegal Parts list: http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprograms/ftc/game
I hope that helps!

Subject: RE: FTC Registration StatusHello Tina,
Our secondary coach, Arthur Eggink, is now in place. I want to register in time for the 9/12 kick-off. However, I am waiting to hear back about the grant application. Is there anything we can do in the mean time? Is it ok for me to begin adding students to our FTC Team. I am considering two teams of 10 from our Alden High School. Can we save any money by sharing materials within our school?
Thank you,

Subject: FTC Registration StatusHello Allen Turton!
My name is Tina De Giso and I am a Program Coordinator here at FIRST® HQ for FIRST Tech Challenge. We are so excited to see you have started the process to create your Team 201500334 for the FIRST Tech Challenge 2015-2016 season. I am reaching out to you today because our records indicate that you have not completed registration for this upcoming season.
Currently, you are missing a screened secondary coach for your team. In order to complete registration this year, a second adult must create a TIMS account, proceed through screening and be invited to join your team. Check out our Start a Team Page, it should provide additional guidance on getting started. Once your secondary coach has successfully joined, you will be able to continue to the FIRST Tech Challenge Storefront where you will be able to choose your product, and pay your registration fee.
If you are waiting to hear back for the results from a Grant Application, please DO NOT proceed through Registration. You still must invite your secondary coach; however, Grants must appear in TIMS before moving forward, even after your second coach has joined your team. If you have questions regarding Grants, please reach out to ftcgrants@usfirst.org.
If you are still looking for Team Resources, please check out our Team Resources Page or our Start a Team Page that may provide additional guidance on getting started. If there is anything we can do to help, please feel free to reach out to me directly. Again, we cannot wait to see everything you and your team plan to accomplish this year.
Cheers,
Tina
