Stick Handling- Using either side of the blade to control the puck as a player attempts to move down the court without losing control.
Passing- Moving the puck or hockey ball between teammates using a forehand or backhand. The See, Step and Strike phrase is a reminder for proper passing and shooting form.
Shooting- Striking the ball or puck towards the goal with the intent of scoring. The See, Step and Strike phrase is a reminder for proper passing and shooting form. We used Forehand (Wrist or Snap) and/or Backhand shots.
Face-off- is used in hockey to start the game or to restart the game if the hockey ball leaves the field of play. We use the defensive face-off in PE class to limit contact and to allow time for offensive players to safely cross over to the other side of the court.
Blades of sticks should not elevate past knees.
Students must wear eye protection at all times.
Contact is not allowed.
Two players from each team can be working for control of the puck or hockey ball.
Only the goalkeeper is allowed in the Goal crease. Goalies may clear the ball using one of the three ways: Roll, Kick, Pass it with their stick.
