    Chapter Objective:

    * There can be remainders when dividing to make equal groups or when sharing equally.


    Quotient - The quotient is the answer in a division problem.

    Remainder - A remainder is the number left over when a number cannot be divided equally.

    Even numbers - When an even number is divided by 2, there is no remainder. Even numbers have 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8 in the ones place.

    Odd numbers - When an odd number is divided by 2, there is a remainder of 1. Odd numbers have 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 in the ones place.
