Chapter Objective:
* Base and height are measurements that are used to find the area of a triangle.
Vocabulary:
Vertex - The point at which two line segments or rays meet to form an angle.
Side - Any one of the line segments that form a polygon.
Angle - An angle is formed by two rays with the same endpoint.
Base - The face or side on which an object lies. In a triangle, any one side can be the base.
Height - The perpendicular distance from the base to the opposite vertex.
Perpendicular - Lines that intersect to form FOUR right angles.
Area - The amount of surface covered; commonly measured is square units, such as square centimeters (cm²) or square inches (in²).
