Currently I provide math support in kindergarten and First Grade.
The classroom teacher and I teacher decide together the most beneficial manner in which to provide AIS support to the students. This can either be done as a push in ( during math lessons in the classroom ) or small group pull out sessions. As the year progresses and students' needs vary and fluctuate, the teachers may use both push in and pull out methods for instruction.
Furthermore, the specific students who receive AIS support in mathematics will change during the course of the academic year. This fluidity enables the service providers to help many different students in each of the grade levels. As different topics are introduced during math instruction, students will enter and exit AIS math as necessary. What is best for each individual student is always considered first and foremost.
