    Dismissal Pick-Up Procedures

    Please note these changes to arrival and dismissal procedures for the 2023 - 2024 school year:

    Morning Drop Off
    Students may be dropped off between 7:30 am and 7:50 am using the Lyons Loop entrance located at the corner of Crittenden Road and Park Street.

    Afternoon Pick Up
    Pick up following afternoon dismissal at 2:05 pm will take place using the parking lot located in front of Alden Middle School. Please provide a note to the classroom teacher if your child will be picked up instead of boarding the school bus.

    Q. My child walks to school. What time should she plan to be at school in the morning?

    A. Morning arrival begins at 7:30 am and students should be in the classroom and ready no later than 7:50 am. Students are not permitted on campus prior to 7:30 am.

    Q. What if I plan to pick up my child daily?

    A. Please send a note in with your child letting the teacher know he/she will be picked up daily. It is not necessary to send a daily note once this communication has been established. 

    Q. What is the procedure for a child who walks home from school?

    A. Students are dismissed daily at 2:05 pm. Please send a note with your child informing the teacher of the daily routine. At dismissal, students walking home should leave campus immediately.  

    Q. What is the procedure for picking up my child early from school? 

    A. Please provide a written note with your child in the morning so that the main office and classroom teacher are aware of the early dismissal. If the dismissal is during school hours (7:30 am - 2:05 pm), a guardian is required to come to the main office before signing the child out of school. To maintain the safety of our students, we require a government-issued ID.

    Q. What if I plan to pick up my child at the end of the day?

    A. Please provide a written note with your child so his teacher knows not to take him to the buses. If the pick-up is after 2:05 pm, you do not need to come to the main office to sign your child out of school. Students will wait for their parents on the sidewalk located by the Middle School parking lot.
